Warner Bros. Discovery Split: What Will Happen to the Movie Studios, HBO Max, Cable Networks and Other Businesses?
Here's a breakdown of what Warner Bros. Discovery's two entities would look like following the split, expected to be completed by mid-2026.
The other will be “WBD Global Networks,” home to CNN, TNT, TBS and more, largely comprising linear TV businesses that have suffered declines in revenue and profitability. The split, according to WBD chief David Zaslav, will give each company “sharper focus and strategic flexibility they need to compete most effectively in today’s evolving media landscape” — including potential M&A options.
