Viola Davis And Author James Patterson to Publish New Novel

Viola Davis is co-writing a new novel, still untitled, with bestselling author James Patterson centered on a powerful female judge in the rural South

The novel — which has yet to be named and is set in the “present-day rural South” — follows a “dynamic and brilliant” female judge who is on the brink of making a decision with “seismic repercussions” to her small county and possibly the nation, according to the book’s synopsis. The novel blends Davis’ “eloquent and powerful voice” with Patterson’s “masterful story-building skills” to create “the perfect partnership for this timely story,” says the release. James Patterson and Viola Davis are two artists and storytellers at the absolute height of their game who do this with every work they engage in,” Sally Kim, publisher of Little, Brown and Company, said of the book in a statement.
