Vine Alternative's CEO James Moore discusses Village Roadshow's bankruptcy, legal battle with Warner Bros. and plans to pivot to EuropaCorp in France.

Moore acknowledged that Village Roadshow’s problems also stemmed from a blown-up development slate and massive ambitions that got hit with structural changes in the business prompted by the pandemic and intensified by the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. The executive, who previously spent 16 years as a banker at JP Morgan, is now ready to relocate to Paris and pivot to EuropaCorp which Vine took over in 2020 and is now in post with Luc Besson’s “Dracula: a Love Tale” with Caleb Landry Jones. You reportedly arranged roughly $13 million in funds, including from Falcon Investments and the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, to carry Village Roadshow through bankruptcy.
