Viewers slam Seven's 'unfunny' Roast of John Cleese as comedy special is destroyed in the ratings by MAFS: 'We Australians do not do comedy well'
Channel Seven's heavily promoted Roast of John Cleese special was absolutely destroyed in the rating on Tuesday night by Nine's Married At First Sight.
It comes after Seven heavily promoted the roast and brought in several Aussie stars to take a dig at Cleese, including Tom Gleeson, Joel Creasey and Rhonda Burchmore. Viewers were much more interested in seeing MAFS couple Andrea Thompson and Richard Sauerman feud on screen during a very heated moment on the reality show. Meanwhile, over on Nine the heated MAFS episode saw groom Richard unable to take his wife Andrea's criticisms on-board and learn from his past mistakes in their union.
