Victoria Beckham’s Paris Fashion Show Disrupted By PETA Activists, Protesting Designer’s Use Of Leather
The activists joined Beckham's models on the catwalk, protesting the designer's use of leather.
The BBC quotes PETA’s European president Mimi Bekhechi saying: “No garment or accessory is worth violently slaughtering and skinning a sensitive and intelligent animal. “We are urging Victoria Beckham to turn instead to the ethical and eco-friendly innovations available today, such as high-end leather made from apples, grapes, pineapples, mushrooms and more.” Beckham appeared unfazed by the protest, taking to the catwalk at the end of the show with crutches and a black protective boot on her left foot, following an injury sustained at the gym.
