VFX House Digital Domain Launches Markerless MoCap Facial Tracking System (EXCLUSIVE)
VFX house Digital Domain is launching its Masquerade3 markerless facial capture system, which promises to speed up the production process.
Visual effects studio Digital Domain is introducing a new version of its Masquerade facial motion capture system, which eliminates the need for actors to wear tracking markers on their faces during production. CTO Hanno Basse tells Variety that the company is sharing the development with customers and “we’re probably going to do several projects this year” using the tech. Digital Domain’s recent film and TV credits includes “Blue Beetle,” “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” “Dark Matter,” “Ahsoka” and “The Last of Us.”
