Veteran Today show star known for delivering baby on live TV dies at age 69: 'He will be deeply missed'


Former Today show star Dr. Ric Porter has died at age 69 of pancreatic cancer.

A prominent obstetrician and fertility specialist, Porter was well known to viewers as the host of Nine's long-running life style hit of the 90s Good Medicine. After noting the doctor's pioneering efforts in IVF the network salute to the fan favourite continued: 'During his career he delivered more than 5000 babies.' Porter was part of a landmark moment in the history of Australian TV when he lead a team to deliver a child live on television.
