Vertical Acquires U.S. Rights To Adventure Comedy ‘Bookworm’ Starring Elijah Wood And Nell Fisher
The Elijah Wood comedy 'Bookworm' has landed with Vertical for U.S. distribution later this year, Deadline can reveal.
Bookworm follows 11-year-old Mildred (Fisher), whose life takes a wild turn when her estranged father, Strawn Wise (Wood), a washed-up Las Vegas illusionist, suddenly reappears. Pic is produced by Firefly Films New Zealand’s Emma Slade ( Come to Daddy), Roxi Bull ( Uproar) and Victoria Dabbs ( Malevolent), as well as Nowhere’s Mette-Marie Kongsved ( I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore) and Laura Tunstall ( Nine Days). Stated Vertical Partner Peter Jarowey commented, “Ant has crafted a hilarious yet wholesome film exploring the complexities of parent-child relationships that will leave audiences of all ages with smiles on their faces.
