Vertical Acquires Matt Tyrnauer’s ‘Nobu’ Documentary (EXCLUSIVE)
Vertical has acquired Matt Tyrnauer’s 'Nobu' documentary about the noted Japanese chef.
In the documentary, Tyrnauer (“Carville: Winning Is Everything, Stupid,” “Where’s My Roy Cohn?”) examines Matsuhisa’s empire while also chronicling his roots from a delinquent childhood to his emergence as a promising young chef and eventually the man who redefined global gastronomy. In addition to Matsuhisa, the doc features interviews with Wolfgang Puck, Robert De Niro, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Ruth Reichl, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber. The film was produced by Tyrnauer, Gianni Nunnari, Corey Reeser, Jeffrey Soros, Simon Horsman, Charlie Cohen, Andrea Lewis (who also served as editor), and Graham High.
