Vera's final series air date 'confirmed' after 14 years on TV


The hit ITV drama Vera, starring Brenda Blethyn, has been on our screens for 14 years, with the final two feature-length episodes set to air on the channel in the new year

Vera, which is based on Ann Cleeves' DCI Stanhope novels, first appeared on our screens on ITV in 2011, with BAFTA winner Brenda Blethyn taking on the lead role. The cast and crew of Vera have been filming across the North East, in locations such as Blyth, Hartlepool, Gateshead and South Shields, reports the Mirror. Attendees were treated to an exclusive preview of the first episode of series 14, where Brenda shares the screen with guest star Kevin Whately.
