Vera star Brenda Blethyn rushed to hospital after accident on set of ITV hit
Brenda Blethyn, the star of Vera, has detailed a scary incident on set while filming the hit ITV drama which saw her rushed to hospital - admitting crew began to notice something was wrong.
After 13 years of portraying the no-nonsense detective, Brenda hung up her character's iconic trench coat and fishing hat after wrapping up the 14th and final series of the popular ITV drama this summer. Recently, she spilled the beans about being a last-minute 'replacement' for another actor in a new film, which also features 2024 Oscar nominee and North East native, Andrea Riseborough. Brenda told the enthralled audience at the BFI that she got a call from her agent about the film role, joking that she barely had time to unpack from her return from Newcastle before having to move again.
