Val Kilmer almost appeared on The Amazing Race with a beloved SNL alum
Val Kilmer nearly appeared on reality television with Will Forte. In the wake of Kilmer's death at age 65, the 54-year-old comic looked back on his friendship with Val.
Writing to Vulture, Will shared that he showed the Top Gun star reality television, and they tried in earnest to become competitors on the CBS series The Amazing Race. The revered Hollywood vet was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014 and underwent surgery, including a tracheotomy, which significantly impacted his ability to speak. Despite his permanently damaged voice, he made a brief return to the screen in 2022's Top Gun: Maverick, reprising his role opposite Tom Cruise.
