UTA Signs ‘East Of Wall’ Filmmaker Kate Beecroft
Kate Beecroft, the filmmaker behind Sundance's 'East of Wall,' has signed with UTA for representation in all areas.
Recently acquired by Sony Pictures Classics, which will distribute the film to theaters worldwide, East of Wall is a work of docu-fiction that centers on Tabatha, a young, tattooed, rebellious horse trainer grappling with financial struggles and unresolved grief, while offering shelter to a group of wayward teens on her broken-down ranch in the Badlands. In an interview with Deadline’s Antonia Blyth out of Sundance, which you can view above, Beecroft shared that “it’s been the most rewarding, amazing, moment of my life spending five years with this incredible family, making this film.” Her experience as a production designer and decorator on commercials and stills, as well as directing several short films and music videos, helped pave the way toward her debut feature.
