USWNT's Rose Lavelle Looking Forward to ‘Exciting Chapter' With New Coach


USWNT veteran Rose Lavelle, who was named to the 2024 Olympic team on Wednesday, expressed optimism about the team’s ‘exciting chapter’ under new coach Emma Hayes

After years of blood, sweat and tears, participating in the most prestigious athletic event in the world is a once-in-a-lifetime moment. Hayes, 47, joined the team in November 2023 on a contract that runs through 2027 and makes her the highest-paid women’s soccer coach in the world. Earlier this month, Hayes ran her inaugural camp as head coach — which Lavelle said gave her high hopes for what’s to come.
