Viewers watching ITV true crime drama Until I Kill You starring Anna Maxwell Martin have pointed out a ‘crazy’ problem with the British justice system that needs changing
Viewers who have watched the new ITV true crime drama Until I Kill You have taken to social media to point out a “crazy” problem that is highlighted in the series, and are demanding change. During the series, based on real life events, London-based nurse Delia Balmer, as played by Anna Maxwell Martin, is subjected to days of torture by her former boyfriend John Sweeney as he holds her hostage in her own flat, and she is later almost killed by him when he returns, having been released on bail, and attacks her with an axe and a knife on her doorstep. Until I Kill You writer Nick Stevens has also commented on how he believes Delia was affected by Sweeney being let out on bail to attack her, and his original life sentence with a minimum tariff of nine years.
