Over four episodes, new ITV drama Until I Kill You has told the story of Delia Balmer, who survived a near fatal attack by her ex-partner, murderer John Sweeney. While Sweeney is in prison for his crimes, including the murder of his ex-girlfriend Melissa Halstead whose body was found in a Rotterdam canal, Delia has rebuilt her life and was involved in the making of Until I Kill You, and a documentary ITV has made to compliment the series that is being broadcast on Thursday 7 November. Anna Maxwell Martin revealed that she doesn’t tend to meet the real life people she has portrayed, but she did see footage of interviews the show’s writer, Nick Stevens, had with Delia before she started working on the series.
