Ultra Music Publishing Must Change Name After Violating ‘Ultra’ Trademark, Judge Rules

Ultra Music Publishing must change its name after violating the "Ultra" trademark owned by Sony's Ultra Records, a judge ruled on Tuesday (Feb. 25).

Last week, Sony Music Entertainment asked a judge to throw out that lawsuit, calling the complaint an act of “retaliation” against the major label for filing its trademark suit against the publishing outfit two years prior.
