The Met Office's long-range outlook towards September's end warns of substantial rainfall too, stating: "Showers or longer spells of rain, heavy and perhaps thundery, will affect parts of England and Wales at first, especially in the south and southwest but tending to ease away to the southeast early next week." A brief respite with calmer weather may arrive early next week before a shift towards more unpredictable conditions takes hold by midweek, with wind and rain commonplace, but also with chances for drier and sunnier breaks, reports the Mirror.
