The UK is set to be hit by some cold temperatures this week in a first taste of autumn, but the suncream and shorts shouldn't be relegated just yet as the warm weather is en route...

Weather forecasts predict a swift recovery in temperatures after a brief five-day cold spell with frosty nights and heavy rain affecting Scotland, Northern Ireland, and parts of England's east coast. Jim Dale, Senior meteorologist at British Weather Services and climate spokesman, hints at a warm resurgence towards the month's end. Temperature rises are on the cards, with projections showing that from September 17, an expansive area from London to Newcastle could experience a welcome increase, marking the beginning of what might be a warmer and calmer spell of weather.
