UK set for a sizzling 26C heatwave as sun comes back with temperatures set to rocket


The 26C heatwave will be a stark contrast to the 2C low recorded in Aviemore, Scottish Highlands this week and despite a slight increase in temperatures, a further rise is on the way

This warm spell is quite the turnaround from the chilly low of 2C felt this week in Aviemore, in the Scottish Highlands, or even from others enjoying slightly milder climes such as the 15C in Coningsby, Lincolnshire and in Carlisle, Cumbria. The Met Office shares some optimism on their website, noting: "Through the middle and latter part of next week high pressure will begin to become more dominant, with dry and at times sunny conditions spreading across the majority of the UK.
