UK households issued with urgent warning for anyone who drinks tea
A new study has found that a single tea bag could release dangerous microplastics into your body, with billions of these particles found in everyday tea bags at home
In fact, our love for a good brew is so strong that we rank third in the world for tea consumption per capita, only surpassed by Turkey and the Republic of Ireland. The study found that billions of these potentially damaging microplastics, which can have various negative health impacts, are present in tea bags. They added: "Endocrine disruptors, also referred to as hormonally active agents, can harm the human body by causing various cancers and reproductive-system disorders."
