UK Chancellor Urged To Intervene & Help “Struggling” Indie Film Sector By Inquiry Boss

Caroline Dinenage, chair of the influential Culture, Media and Sport Committee, said Jeremy Hunt needed to make an "urgent intervention."

“Enhanced tax relief will help ensure that more British stories are told and seen by wider audiences and add resilience to our homegrown sector. She added: “It’s clear that Britain’s independent film industry is struggling, and Government intervention, including enhanced tax relief, is urgently needed to support it.” “An increase to the Film Tax Relief of 40% would stimulate investment into the sector, create jobs and opportunities for new talent, which in turn would benefit the wider audiovisual economy,” said Pact CEO John McVay.
