Tyler, the Creator and Sexyy Red Stan an HBCU Band ‘Sticky’ Cover
Jackson State University’s Sonic Boom of the South put a marching band spin on the 'Chromakopia' track, which features Sexyy Red, GloRilla, Solange, and Lil Wayne.
While Tyler, the Creator's new album, Chromakopia, continues to dominate the Billboard 200, a song from the LP has received an HBCU band tribute. Last Saturday, November 16, the Jackson State Tigers’ Sonic Boom of the South performed a live rendition of the Tyler, Sexyy Red, GloRilla and Lil Wayne collaboration “Sticky.” The Tigers were playing against the Alabama State Hornets, whose Mighty Marching Hornets performed “In the Sanctuary” by Kurt Carr. On Sunday, November 17, Tyler and Sexyy reacted to the performance just after bringing “Sticky” to the latest installment of Camp Flog Gnaw in Los Angeles.
