Tyler Perry Says It's 'Taking So Long' to Make Sister Act 3 with Whoopi Goldberg: 'I'm a Little Annoyed'

Tyler Perry said in a new interview that he's frustrated that 'it's taking so long' for production on 'Sister Act 3' to get underway. The project, which he is producing alongside Whoopi Goldberg, was first announced by Disney back in December 2020.

Goldberg, 68, and Perry first discussed the idea for the latest sequel to the 1992 film when they appeared together on Watch What Happens Live in November 2018. Perry teased a new Sister Act movie starring Tiffany Haddish and Goldberg in her original role as Deloris, a lounge singer who joins a convent after being placed in a witness protection program. "I want to let Maggie Smith know that I'm holding the part of Mother Superior for you, because I just can't do it with anybody but you," she said on the British talk show Loose Women.
