Tyler Perry Expands Netflix Deal to Include TV Series; ‘Beauty in Black’ First Series Ordered
Tyler Perry is expanding his first-look deal with Netflix to include TV series. A first project, 'Beauty in Black' is already in the works.
As part of the expanded relationship with Netflix, Perry is developing the 16-episode hour-long drama “ Beauty in Black,” which he will write, direct and executive produce. Perry’s new creative partnership with Netflix to write, direct and produce feature films under a multi-year, first-look deal, announced in October, spans eight pictures over four years. Perry’s relationship with Netflix stretches back to previous films including “A Jazzman’s Blues,” “A Madea Homecoming” and “A Fall from Grace.”
