Tyler Perry and DeVon Franklin to Produce Faith-Based Films at Netflix, Set Bible-Inspired Love Story ‘R&B’ as First Title


Tyler Perry Studios and DeVon Franklin team with Netflix to produce faith-based films under a multi-year and multi-picture first-look deal.

Franklin is coming off the success of the Eva Longoria-directed film “Flamin’ Hot,” which was released by Searchlight via Hulu, becoming the studio’s most-watched streaming premiere, and won the 2023 SXSW Headliners Audience Award. Franklin is currently developing the faith-based romantic comedy “Relationship Goals: How to Win at Dating, Marriage and Sex,” based on Michael Todd’s bestselling book, with a script by Tynan and Elliot for Amazon Studios. Tynan and Elliot are represented by Ryan Saul and Corey Ackerman at Cartel, and Adam Cooper at Jackoway Austen Tyerman Wertheimer Mandelbaum Morris Bernstein Trattner Auerbach Hynick Jaime LeVine Sample & Klein.
