Hollywood actor Jon-Erik Hexum, who starred in CBS detective series Cover Up, died after toying with a gun on set, with his organ donation saving several lives

Jon-Erik Hexum, who had a swift rise to fame in the entertainment industry, tragically died on October 18, 1984, after he playfully put a .44 Magnum, loaded with blanks, to his head and pulled the trigger. Before his role in Cover Up, Jon-Erik had a stint on the NBC time travel series Voyagers, which was axed after just one season in 1983, and starred in the TV movie Making of a Male Model with icon Joan Collins. Jon-Erik's girlfriend, Elizabeth Dailly, spoke to Sun about the actor's untimely death, attributing it to his relentless drive, revealing he had been under immense pressure over the direction of the TV show.
