TV Choice Awards 2024: Happy Valley has double triumph for its final series as show's Sarah Lancashire is named Best Actress while Emmerdale bags the Best Soap gong

Happy Valley had a double win at the TV Choice Awards on Monday after its final series aired last year.

The show was named the winner of the Best Drama Series gong after going up against Heartstopper on Netflix, Channel 5's All Creatures Great and Small, and ITV1's Vera. This year's winners were announced at a glittering ceremony – hosted by Tom Allen, with the comedian anchoring the event for the first time – at the London Hilton on Park Lane, where TV's biggest names gathered. Emmerdale's Jeff Hordley, 53, who plays Cain Dingle (right), scored his first TV Choice Awards as he triumphed in the Best Soap Actor category
