Tupac Shakur Murder Trial Pushed a Year for Further Investigation

The Tupac Shakur murder trial of suspect Duane “Keffe D” Davis has been postponed to 2026 amid new developments.

Davis’ defense team filed a motion Friday seeking more time, saying critical investigative work had to be done and witnesses needed to be interviewed to ensure he gets a fair trial. Defense attorneys also are raising questions about the manner of Shakur’s death, saying they have witness information indicating that he was in stable condition after the shooting and died suddenly after being hospitalized for a week. Duane "Keffe D" Davis, left, who is accused of orchestrating the 1996 slaying of hip-hop icon Tupac Shakur, waits to appear in court at the Regional Justice Center in Las Vegas on June 25, 2024.
