On April 22, “60 Minutes” executive producer Bill Owens quit, saying interference from Paramount execs prevented him from making “independent decisions based on what was right for ’60 Minutes,’ right for the audience.” On May 19, CBS News president Wendy McMahon announced her resignation, writing in a memo to staff, “It’s become clear that the company and I do not agree on the path forward.”
