Top-flight footballer dead aged just 22 after car crash


Midfielder Marco Angulo has died from his injuries following a car crash at the age of 22, the Ecuadorian top-flight club confirmed on Tuesday

The talented midfielder, who had represented the Ecuador national team three times and top-flight club LDU Quito, was immediately rushed to hospital where he underwent surgery to alleviate pressure in his head caused by the accident. Fans and colleagues have been posting tribute messages to MarcoIt's believed that the Ford Explorer carrying Marco hit a metal structure on the Ruminahui highway in southeast Quito around 4:30am. "The Ecuadorian Football Federation expresses its deepest regret for the death of: Marco Angulo former La Tri player, who with his talent and dedication defended the colours of our country at every opportunity he had.
