“Death Becomes Her,” a campy adaptation of the cult 1992 movie, “Maybe Happy Ending,” the story of two robots who forge a deep connection, and “Buena Vista Social Club,” a look at a group of Cuban musicians, were this year’s most nominated shows with 10 nods apiece. There are also a pair of buzzy productions, “ Gypsy,” with Audra McDonald making history by landing her record 11th nomination, and “Sunset Blvd.,” a stripped down adaptation of the Hollywood satire that features a powerhouse performances from Nicole Scherzinger, facing off against each other in the musical revival race.
