While Toni ultimately forgave her husband, the unsavoury tale reared its head again when Wayne Bridge's would-be boxing opponent KSI used it to taunt him ahead of a planned bout. Although Vanessa rubbished the credibility of the story, which later prompted the newspaper to issue an apology, Wayne refused to shake John's hand ahead of Manchester City's clash with Chelsea in 2010.
