Tom Hanks Helps Re-Create ‘Forrest Gump’ Scenes in Son Chet Hanks’ ‘You Better Run’ Music Video
Tom Hanks and his son Chet recreated scenes from 'Forrest Gump' for Something Out West's "You Better Run" music video. Watch.
The three-minute music video opens with Chet sitting on a park bench in a replica of his father’s costume from the movie, paying tribute to one of its most famous visuals. Between clips of the younger Hanks retracing his dad’s footsteps while redoing more Forrest Gump scenes — including walking beside “Jenny,” getting chased down by a group of bullies and embarking on a yearslong jog across the United States — the video splices in shots of Something Out West performing the country-tinged rock track on a shrimp boat as another homage to the Robert Zemeckis-directed movie. “You better run like the devil’s on your tail/ Like you broke out of jail/ Like a big storm’s coming,” Chet sings on the track, which will appear on Something Out West’s upcoming Leaving Hollywood EP.
