Tom Cruise reflects on working with ex-wife Nicole Kidman in 'Eyes Wide Shut' and describes her as a 'great actress' in a rare interview
During a Tuesday, July 16, interview with the Los Angeles Times, Kidman, 57, was asked if the film’s director, Stanley Kubrick, was ever “mining” her real-life relationship with Cruise, 62, for inspiration. In Eyes Wide Shut, Cruise stars as Dr. Bill Harford, who goes on a trek to the Manhattan underworld after his wife, Alice, reveals that she was unfulfilled in their marriage. “That fits the narrative that people came up with, but I definitely didn’t see it like that,” Kidman told The New York Times in 2020, after being asked if her role brought “negative feelings” to their real-life union.
