Tom Cruise in Talks to Star in Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s Film at Warner Bros. and Legendary
The untitled project would be Iñárritu's first English-language film since 'The Revenant.'
The film will be produced and directed by Iñárritu, with a script he co-wrote in 2023 with “Birdman” co-writers Nicolas Giacobone and Alexander Dinelaris, along with Sabina Berman. Most recently, Cruise appeared in “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” and “Top Gun: Maverick.” Cruise’s other upcoming films include the eighth “Mission: Impossible” film for Paramount, as well as an upcoming Universal action movie from Doug Liman that will make him “the first civilian to do a spacewalk” outside the International Space Station. He followed up those projects with 2017’s “Flesh and Sand” (“Carne y Arena”), a virtual-reality short giving viewers the perspective of migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border with a coyote.
