Federal appeals judges threw out Julie's sentence on Friday, providing the opportunity to receive a reduced sentence from a lower court - but Todd's appeal was rejected.
Julie's case will now return to a lower court for resentencing, providing an opportunity for a potentially reduced prison term for her punishment over what the appellate panel called a 'narrow issue.' Julie, 51, received a prison sentence of seven years when the couple was found guilty of conspiring to defraud community banks out of more than $30 million in fraudulent loans In addition, Todd's former business partner Mark Braddock shocked the world when he claimed that he had a gay love affair with the father-of-five during the trial - something he vehemently denied.
