TMZ Accuses Ex-Employee of Embezzling $100,000

TMZ has sued a former employee, Alex 'Woody' Wood, alleging he took money from petty cash and diverted company funds to his businesses.

Wood is also accused of paying personal expenses on a company card, and then lying to cover it up, and of diverting TMZ’s money to businesses he owned. He made a series of payments to TMZ from April through July, but then stopped, and still owes about $45,000, the complaint states. Harvey Levin founded the company in 2005, following a lengthy career as a law professor, legal commentator and TV news reporter.
