Tina Louise Never Expected ‘Gilligan’s Island’ to Last 3 Seasons: ‘I Didn’t Really Want to Do It’
Tina Louise admitted that she never expected Gilligan's Island to last for as long as it did. Initially, she assumed it would be over in 'six months.'
“I had just become a member of the Actor’s Studio, and I didn’t really want to do it, but they weren’t happy with the person who did the pilot, so I was just asked to do it,” the God’s Little Acre actress shared during the appearance. The sitcom also starred Bob Denver, Alan Hale Jr., Jim Backus, Natalie Schafer, Russell Johnson and Dawn Wells. Among some of the other revelations made in the interview was the fact that the pilot was initially shot in Hawaii but the set was moved to Los Angeles when the show was picked up.
