The actor, 28, won the award for A Complete Unknown, a Bob Dylan biopic where he plays the singer alongside co-stars Monica Barbaro, Edward Norton and Elle Fanning.
Timothee, who also produced the ucpcoming film, was joined at the event by his co-star Monica who plays Bob's former partner and folk singer Joan Baez.
