An Apple spokesperson did not immediately return a request for comment, but the donation came from Cook’s personal funds, not the company’s, according to Axios. It actually is traditional for corporations in general to donate to inaugurations of incoming administrations, but tech companies have sought to establish friendlier ties with Trump than in his first term, when they were a frequent target.
