In January 2023, Deidre discussed Rick's death with former hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, which occurred in the run-up to Christmas- and how he'd narrowly missed out on seeing her receive an MBE in the New Year Honours List for 2023. After being congratulated for the honour, which acknowledged her services to charity and those battling mental health issues, Deirdre agreed with Phillip's sentiment that it had been 'a nice bright light in quite a sad time for you', reports the Mirror. Phillip Schofield extended his sympathies on the show, saying: "We're very sorry and we're glad you're here," to which Deirdre expressed her gratitude, mentioning how returning to work felt positive.
