The Weeknd Cancels Rose Bowl Concert, Delays Album Release Due To L.A. Wildfires

The Weeknd is canceling his planned January 25 concert at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena as deadly wildfires continue to wreak havoc in the region.

The Weeknd on Monday said he was canceling his planned January 25 concert at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena “out of respect and concern for the people of Los Angeles County” as deadly wildfires continue to wreak havoc in the region. “This city has always been a profound source of inspiration for me, and my thoughts are with everyone impacted at this time,” the singer, real name Abel Tesfaye, wrote on social media. A total of 14,117 acres have burned in Altadena, Pasadena and parts of Sierra Madre, with 11 fatalities to date and 1,902 structures destroyed.
