The troubled life of soap star-turned drug dealer Brian Regan: Brookside actor who turned to life of crime after show and was jailed for perverting the course of justice in a gangland murder

He was known for playing the iconic Terry Sullivan in Brookside, famed for his trademark curly perm and moustache. But after leaving the soap in 1997 - actor Brian Regan entered into a life of crime.

After several failed relationships, Terry found love with Sue Harper (Annie Miles) and the pair later married and welcomed a son, Danny (Keiran Poole). However, Regan was convicted of two counts of perverting the course of justice by lying to police in the early stages of the murder investigation and disposing of a pair of gloves he wore on the night. Following the shooting, detectives launched a murder investigation and began by hunting for the getaway car, a red Ford Escort estate, which had been spotted by witnesses and on CCTV.
