The Tower's Gemma Whelan hints at major twist in new series
Gemma Whelan returns as Detective Sergeant Sarah Collins in the third series of ITV's The Tower, in which she finds herself breaking police rules for a very special reason.
Lizzie Adama, portrayed by Tahirah Sharif, is now juggling motherhood and her complex relationship with DI Kieran Shaw, played by Emmett J Scanlan, who is still with his wife and embroiled in an undercover operation. Meanwhile, DC Steve Bradshaw, brought to life by Jimmy Akingbola, is deep undercover working for Kieran, setting the stage for Sarah's murder case to intertwine with their covert activities. "That scene was minimal acting required, because I had an actual baby who was screaming, and I was trying to make the fish fingers and deal with talking to Gemma's character at the same time," she shared, finding the authenticity of the moment both challenging and enjoyable.
