Catherine is finally scheming and plotting in the best episode of the season.
It was hard to drag myself away from watching the DNC’s ceremonial roll call on a loop, but this week’s time with Catherine de’ Medici and family really paid off. In reality, this was clearly awful, but in this fictional realm where we’re smushing timelines together and making up relationships and aliving people who were unalive at the time, the Protestants are a really giant bee in my bonnet, and I need Catherine to have a win. They want this so they can put François on the throne until his presumed son with Margot comes of age, and then they’ll have a solidly Catholic ruler.
