The Script's Danny O'Donoghue reveals drinking session with Sir Tom Jones left him hospitalised after his heart 'flipped into a different rhythm'
The Script star, 43, and legendary musician, 83, grew close after they starred on The Voice panel back in 2012 alongside fellow artists Jessie J and Will.i.am.
And after a night of straight champagne at the Lowry hotel in Manchester, Danny explained that he was left unable to keep up with Sir Tom's drinking and ended up in hospital after his heart 'flipped into a different rhythm'. Gushing over his admiration for the singer he added: 'What an amazing career that guy's had… And like all Welsh people they're so down to earth, it's easy to forget how big and how legendary Tom is but he makes you feel that way himself, but I really, really loved my time with him.' As a result of his sobriety, Danny moved past a writers' block he had been experiencing and started writing new music, with a The Script album set to be released in August.
