The One Show fans fume over 'nepotism' as Roman Kemp interviews own parents
The One Show viewers were left fuming this evening as they accused the BBC programme of 'nepotism' after host Roman Kemp interviewed his parents Shirlie and Martin
However, as the evening unfolded, it wasn't long before tensions flared among the audience at home when Roman was seen interviewing pop power couple Shirlie and Martin, diving into their Children In Need escapade on Interior Design Masters. Fans didn't hold back their thoughts, drawing parallels between The One Show's family affair and Ed Balls' moment in the interviewer's chair with his own wife, Yvette Cooper, which made waves on ITV's Good Morning Britain earlier in August. While speaking openly at the Royal Television Society (RTS) London Conference, Dame Carolyn described the situation: "It was a very, very tricky morning, there was a national emergency almost being called, and so we got very short notice that the home secretary was coming on the show."
