The Mediapro Studio Caps Busy Mipcom With Key Sales Deals for ‘Quiet,’ ‘The Head,’ ‘Express’
Mediapro's upcoming Barcelona-set serial killer thriller 'Quiet' was picked up by Disney+ in Spain while other recent titles sold well abroad.
Spain’s The Mediapro Studio brought out the big guns at this year’s Mipcom to promote its first-ever English-language slate, which includes projects featuring John Turturro, Melissa Leo, “24” showrunner Evan Katz and Oscar winner Juan José Campanella, among others. Directed by Jorge Dorado, “The Head” is set in an Antarctic research station, the whodunit thriller stars John Lynch (“Blue Lights”), Katharine O’Donnelly (“Mary, Queen of Scots”) and Olivia Morris (“Hotel Portofino”), among other series regulars. Other notable sales made during Mipcom include several titles from Johnson Production Group – whose rights are part of The Mediapro Studio Distribution’s portfolio – to operators in France, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium and the Balkan Peninsula.
