The Godfather producer Al Ruddy dies aged 94
Al Ruddy, who produced the Oscar-winning films "The Godfather" and "Million Dollar Baby," died May 25 in Los Angeles. He was 94.
Al Ruddy, dual Oscar winner famed for producing "The Godfather" and "Million Dollar Baby," sadly passed away on May 25 at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. Following the triumphant success of sitcom "Hogan's Heroes," Ruddy delved into producing "Little Fauss and Big Halsy" and "Making It", preceding his union with Francis Ford Coppola's acclaimed film "The Godfather," nominated for an imposing stack of 11 Academy Awards. His career-long camaraderie with Clint Eastwood resulted in legendary collaborations which included the Oscar-winning libretto "Million Dollar Baby" in 2004 followed by the praised 2021 movie "Cry Macho."
